Lying on top of different materials

lying tummy down

One way to make your child experience the different parts of his body and use his muscles is by letting him lie down on something. Very suitable for this activity are those long “animals” used as draught excluders in front of doors, but towels rolled up or firm cuddly toys can be used as well.

The child is supine, prone or on his side on top of towels or whatever you are using and you try to pull them from underneath him. You pull so hard that your child has to strain his muscles firmly.
