sensory processing

A lot of scientific research into sensory processing disorder has been carried out in the last ten years. Because there are so many different circumstances where problems in sensory processing can manifest itself, it remains difficult to ascertain the existence of sensory processing disorder. From a number of diagnosed problems it has now been proven that the processing of sensory information differs significantly from the normal population.

The results of the research concerning treatment are not yet uniform. It often concerns small groups of children or sometimes even the description of a single child. Sensory processing disorder must be described more clearly as well as the criteria that must be met when applying a therapy aiming at sensory processing. In any case it is established definitely that there is no proof that a therapy based on sensory processing should not be useful. Below you will find a number of websites where information on scientific publications can be found.
